Upon completion of the modules listed above, the graduate has the requisite nursing skills, phlebotomy skills, basic life saving skills, and electrocardiogram testing skills to obtain employment in area hospitals, long-term care facilities, laboratories, and clinics. Furthermore, a graduate of this competency-based program is eligible to take state and/or national certification examinations in Phlebotomy, Certified Nurse’s Assistant, EKG/ECG Technician, and Patient Care Technician. The student is prepared for a variety of job positions in the health career field, as cross-training has become a necessary tool for acquiring or maintaining competent staff in healthcare facilities.
