STUDENT SERVICES
Office of the Registrar
The
major objective of the Registrar’s Office is to provide for the completion of
the registration process of all students who have been accepted into any one of
the Care Training Center,
LLC programs of study. In addition, the Registrar’s Office is responsible for
distributing, storing, and maintaining accurate attendance and academic
records. Academic data within this office is maintained in a database as well
as in the student’s academic files. Other general functions of this office include,
but are not limited to, transcripts, enrollment verification, certification of
satisfactory progress, and certification of diplomas and degrees.
Student Records
Student records can be
described in the following terms:

Contents (e.g.,
personal information, courses taken, grade point averages, program information,
assessment scores),
·
Use (e.g., identifying
students eligible for the Alpha Beta Kappa Honor society), and
The maintenance of
extensive, accurate, historical, and current data about individual students is
essential to the functioning of any school or educational facility, including Care Training
Center, LLC. For this purpose, student records are
available for purchase within the following guidelines:
- One copy of a student’s transcript is available,
free of charge, at graduation.
- Any requested copies of a transcript for any
student are available for $10.00.
- Graduates of the school wishing to obtain copies of
a misplaced or destroyed graduation certificate, may purchase a duplicate
certificate for $20.00.
- Copies of any and all receipts of payment (usually
requested for tax purposes) are available for purchase at $5.00 each.
- All copies of transcripts, graduation certificates,
and receipts must be requested in writing. There is a 48-hour grace period for
receipt of any requested document. Please, note that transcripts are
released until all fees and financial obligations to Care Training
Center, LLC are
fulfilled.
Graduation
Graduation Ceremonies at SVC are held at the
completion of each program’s curriculum in its entirety. Requirements for
graduation include passing all curriculum components with a 70%GPA or better,
and completion of all modules required in each student's program of study. Certificates
are awarded to students who fulfill all educational, administrative, and
financial requirements of the program. These requirements include, but are not
limited to the timely submission of financial documentation for state programs,
clearance from the Registrar, clearance from accounting demonstrating all
financial obligations have been met, clearance from
the program Department Director, and Career Services to ensure a satisfactory
resume or portfolio is on file. Students that fulfill these requirements will
be notified of an upcoming ceremony, and where and when a ceremony takes place.
Any other questions can be answered by Campus Director or Student Records.
Learning Resource Center
The Learning Resource
Center (LRC) contains a broad selection of library material and is arranged for
easy access. In addition to books, periodicals and documents, there are
audio-visual materials related to each academic area. All holdings, with the
exception of audio-visual, are available for in-college use or check-out.
Audio-visual materials are for in-class use only. A TV/VCR is available for student use in the Care Training
Center, LLC
facility. We also provide internet
access for student use in the LRC. Students must adhere to the Computing
and Internet Resource Policy guidelines posted in all LRCs.
Failure to do so may result in loss of internet privileges or other
disciplinary action. Care
Training Center,
LLC reserves the right to limit, restrict or amend this policy at any time. Additional
information on this student service is available from the Campus Director.
Career Planning & Placement
Care
Training Center,
LLC is contracted with Care Management Group, LLC, a private nursing agency,
for job placement following successful completion of the Certified Nurse’s Aide
component of the Medical Assistant (Clinical) and Medical Assistant
(Administrative) programs. Both the
school and the placement agency host a job fair with participants from area medical
and/or health facilities for the potential placement of graduates of any of Care Training
Center, LLC’s programs. In
addition, a list of facilities that are presently hiring is available for
students to view, make contact, submit applications, and request or garner
interviews. During clinical externships, students have the opportunity to move
from internship-trainee to full-time employment. Our staff is available to assist all of our
students with using the internet for job searches, résumé posting, and placement. After a student is employed, Care Training
Center, LLC will provide
follow-up that includes advancement review, career goals revamping, and the offer
of further education leading to advancement. Follow-up is conducted via
telephone calls, meetings, and evaluation forms.
